was able to close the gap a couple seconds but never really threatened as Jan took the win by about
4 1/2 seconds in 5:14.43. Porter also came through under 5:20 with her 5:19.08. There was over a
9 second gap to 3rd. Waybright used a strong final 100 to move past Chambers for 3rd. Chambers just
held off the late charge of Boddy who moved up to 5th. Those four finished within a 2 second span.

3200 Meter Run
Frankfort's Katie Jan took the early lead, taking the pack through the first lap in 1:16. There
was still a large pack after two laps with Jan, Philip Barbour's Brianna Waybright, and
Weir's Kristen Mastrantoni crossing in 2:42. Jan started to generate a gap on lap 3. She
crossed in 4:09, and had opened a 3 second lead on the pack. Waybright and Mastrantoni crossed
together in 4:12. Oak Glen's Kelsey Chambers was a stride back with the same time. Point
Pleasant's Andrea Porter was just behind her, also crossing in 4:12. At the half-way point,
Jan had extended her lead to 9 seconds, crossing in 5:36. Mastrantoni and Wabyright again crossed
together in 5:45 with Chambers again a step behind and Porter again a step behind that, with the
first three scoring 5:45's and Porter a 5:46. On lap 5, Jan continued to extend her lead. She
stretched it out to 11 seconds, crossing in 7:08. Chambers had moved into 2nd in 7:19. Waybright
was in 3rd at 7:20. Mastrantoni was in 4th at 7:21. That trio had gotten away from Porter, who
remained in 5th at 7:24. There was a 3-way battle for 6th going on, as there was on the last lap,
between Weir's Alexis Virtue, and another pair that I can't completely identify. I believe
it's Berkeley Springs' Sara Younker and Philip Barbour's Allison Villers. After 6
laps, Jan had extended the lead to 14 seconds, coming through in 8:41. Chambers remained in 2nd
in 8:55. Mastrantoni was in 3rd in 8:57. Waybright was in 4th at 8:58. Porter held a precarious
grip on 5th in 9:07 with Younker right on her tail in 9:08. Lap 7 saw Jan take the lead to 15 seconds,
crossing in 10:13. Chambers strengthened her hold on 2nd at 10:28. Waybright was a half-stride

the final lap, Jan brought home the title without being threatened with an 11:42.08. Chambers easily
held onto the 2nd spot with an 11:53.83. No one else made it in under 12:00. Waybright outkicked
Mastrantoni for 3rd. Younker outdueled Virtue for 5th.

4x400 Meter Relay
The Berkeley Springs foursome of Keri Shetler, Kayla Mundey, Danielle Haynes, and Melissa Colby
took home not just the event title, but the Meet Title as well with their stellar performance. This is
a group that I didn't even pick to place, and they came up huge for their team. They received a very
strong 3rd leg from Danielle Haynes to move from 4th to 2nd, and then Melissa Colby came
from about 20 meters behind (and in 3rd) in the last 100 meters to make the pass on Keyser just steps
before the finish line. Wayne edged Wir for 3rd.
RunWV's Current Score: 56 of 66.
4x800 Meter Relay
I can't give any kind of decent recap. I was filming instead of taking notes, and I completely messed
up with the camera, so I have no film. Keyser's group of Payton Derryberry, Clarissa Carnell,
Kierra Rohrbaugh, and Sarah Boddy controlled the race and won it by over 6 seconds with a 10:04.99.
Webster edged Weir for 2nd was both were in the 10:11's. The front 6 were under 10:20.

the 7th Best All-Time Class A-AA State Meet Performance. Liberty Harrison's Alexandria
Allen just missed the 17' mark with her 16'10 jump. Summers' Emily Smith and Ritchie's
Mykayla Garrett also topped 16'.
RunWV's Current Score: 82 of 96.
shot Put
Berkeley Springs' Harlie Stotler completed the four-peat, winning the Shot Put for the 4th
time. Her 36'10.50 toss was over 2 1/2' further than anyone else. Only Oak Glen's Amanda Clark
topped 34' among the rest of the field.
RunWV's Current Score: 85 of 102.
Discus
Berkeley Springs' Harlie Stotler gave her team yet another field event win by taking the discus
by over 9'. Her 114'2 toss easily outdistanced 2nd place Kaylee Dickinson of Shady Spring. A
year after just 2 throwers topped 100', seven did it this time.
RunWV's Current Score: 90 of 108.
The final score of 81 of 108 means that 83.3% of the people picked to place did indeed place. Congratulations to those that proved me wrong.
